The final two excursions on Saturday evening feature excellent breweries which have recently opened in the small market town of Wimborne. The first is Eight Arch Brewery (8archbrewing.co.uk), which opened in 2014 with a range of unfined ales developed with the help of feedback received from drinkers sampling prototype beers sent to a number of local outlets for this purpose. This innovative approach clearly worked, as regular ales Parabolic and Corbell are fine examples of their bread while others are being added to the range such as speciality beer Fruit Cake, which is sure to be popular. Supply into the wholesale trade is ensuring that the products are starting to reach real ale lovers nationwide while the brewery tap is open every Friday evening and is always well attended and busy. Street food from Flaming Peaches (flaming-peaches.com) is available to purchase during these evenings and the company will be present during this trip for those wanting something to eat, it makes a very good accompaniment to the ale and comes highly recommended. The brewery may stage an open day on the Saturday of the Members’ Weekend but please check their website for confirmation/details.
